The Museums that are in Los Angeles are all located right within the city and is made up of nonprofit organizations, private businesses, and government entities that collect and care for various objects of scientific, historical, cultural or artistic interest and make the collections or exhibits available for any public viewing. The list that is below are physical locations and are not virtual museums.

A & D Museum is located downtown and it is the Architecture and Design Museum which often changes exhibits, and provides education and information center about landscape design, product design, fashion design, architecture, and interior design.

Armand Hammer Museum of Art is located in Westwood and is also called the Hammer Museum. The collections there include French 19th century masters, American artists from the 18th to 20th century, European old master paintings, works by Honore Daumier, as well as contemporary art and sculptures.

Autry Museum of American West is located in Griffith Park and is a culture museum that has been dedicated to art, cultures, and history of the American West. It was established in 2003 after 3 museums merged together to form one complete museum.

Battleship USS Iowa is located at the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro. It is a military museum that is ran by the battleship center of the Pacific. This particular battleship served during World War II, the cold war, the Korean War, and has hosted 3 different presidents.

California Science Center is located within Los Angeles and houses many unique artifacts and interesting things to keep you occupied with. It is great for kids and adults.

Chatsworth Museum is a historical house and museum that is ran by the Historical Society of Chatsworth. This is located on Homestead Acres and is a 19th century homesteader’s cottage that was called the Hill-palmer cottage.

Chinese American Museum is a unique ethnic museum that allows people to see the history and experience of Chinese Americans within California as well as exhibits fine art, and is part of the El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument.

Flight Path Learning Center and Museum is located in Los Angeles and has plenty of unique items to look at such as aircrafts, displays, school tours, special programs, models, and photos. The library has a lot of rare flight magazines that date to before World War II as well as historical photos and aircraft manuals.

The Griffith Observatory is located in Griffith Park and it has unique space exhibits such as planets, cosmos, the sun and moon, gravity and the stars.

Guinness World Record Museum is located in Hollywood and is found right on Hollywood Boulevard and has unique world record breaking facts and feats. This is a great place to learn interesting things.

Hollywood Heritage Museum is located in Hollywood and is a history museum that contains photographs from silent movie productions, historic documents, movie memorabilia and movie props.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art is located on the Miracle Mile and is a unique art museum that has pavilions for Japanese art, Ancient Americas, Middle eastern, Korean and Chinese, photography, Collections of African art, textiles and costumes and decorative arts.
